Author Guidelines

UNED Research Journal / Cuadernos de Investigación UNED is an open access internationally indexed scientific journal that follows the standards of the Council of Science Editors.

There is no charge for publishing or reading it *.

Drafting

The text must be concise and clear, and follow Council of Science Editors guidelines for figures, tables and writing. Avoid passive or impersonal writing: write in the first person (e.g. We did seven field trips"). This style is the current form used by all major journals. Use commas for decimals, and the International System of Units.

References

References are cited chronologically within the text, by surname and year, separating them from each other by semicolons. Use APA 7 format and, if possible, only cite scientific articles (if absolutely necessary, you can cite academic books, theses or official websites).

Figures and Tables

Include figures and tables within the text, using the templates downloaded from this page (see below). Do not send pixelated or blurred images.

Along with the manuscript and figures, attach the signed ethical letter (you can send several to complete all authors).

Submit manuscript

To submit, have ready the manuscript in the Word template, the figures, and the signed ethical letter in PDF, and visit the following link: SUBMISSION

If you wish, you may submit your manuscript as a preprint to SciELO Preprints before submitting it to our journal, using this link:

Notes

UNED Research Journal publishes short reports (3-4 pp) and notes (1-2 pp). Additional material (text, images, audios and videos) is published online as needed. We recommend that Short Articles do not exceed 1500 words and that authors file other material (raw data, audio, video, images, additional text) in zenodo.org or a similar public repository (include the links in the Methods section of your manuscript).
