Author Guidelines
UNED Research Journal follows the general guidelines of the Council of Science Editors. It does not charge to submit or publish articles.
The text should be concise and clear. Measure units must be used as established by the International System of Units and decimals separated by a comma. The total length of the manuscript mustnot exceed 5000 words and have the following structure:
• Title
• Authors (full names) with respective institutional, electronic addresses and ORCIS id.
• Abstracts (200-300 words) and 5-7 general keywords (we recommend the SPINES Thesaurus) in English and Spanish
• An introductory section with a chronological summary of the fundaments on the topic emphasizing on recent literature. Concludes by describing the main objective of the paper.
• Methodological section, explaining briefly how the work was done, includes sample size.
• A section that presents the results (do not include analysis or opinions in this section, only the results).
• Analysis section, which discusses each and only each specific result within the framework of the literature. Ends with 2-3 brief concluding paragraphs, untitled.
• Acknowledgments.
• References (only those cited in the text in APA 7 format).
References are cited chronologically in the text, by first name and year, separated by semicolon. Avoid quotations and do not use footnotes. References should include formal publications (i.e. academic journals and books) and must follow the APA7 format.
Include figures and tables in the document, but also send them apart in high resolution. Send everything in a document in Word or RTF format, to researchjournal@uned.ac.cr and a scanned letter signed by author and all coauthors stating that they agree with publication and that the document is original; that the study followed the Helsinki Ethical Norms; that the manuscript is original and has not been published before (even in modified forms); and that you accept the journal's norms and final decision. Also, please, include names and e-mail addresses of four potential reviewers. When submitting a manuscript for publication, the authors assign the copyright to the journal and accept the journal rules, procedures and decisions.

Copyright is shared by the authors and the journal; contents can be reproduced if the source and copyright are acknowledged according to the Open Access license CC BY 4.0. Self-storage in preprint servers and repositories is allowed for all versions. We encourage authors to publish raw data and data logs in public repositories and to include the links with all drafts so that reviewers and readers can consult them at any time.
The journal is financed by public funds via Universidad Estatal a Distancia and editorial independence and ethical compliance are guaranteed by the Board of Editors, UNED. We do not publish paid ads or receive funds from companies.
