Abstract

The so-called citizenship insecurity has become a key public issue for Costa Rican society in recent years. In this scenario more social agents are interested in the problem and its understanding, trying to propose suitable public policies. According to this context, this paper proposes an approach that pretends to explain and understand the discursive bases that built the narrative representations linked to the subjects that are labeled as criminals. In order to achieve this scope, three Diario La Extra editorials from years 2008 to 2010 are analyzed here.
