Aeromonas spp. and Pseudomonas spp. are present in water and have been proposed, as trophic status indicators are a public health hazard because they are opportunistic pathogens. Colombian legislation does not address these microbial genera as indicators of microbial water quality. This study seeks to enrich the information that supports the inclusion of Aeromonas spp.and Pseudomonas spp, as indicators in the Standards of the microbiological quality of water in Colombia. Eleven points were evaluated water sources Chicaque Natural Park in the rainy season (November 2010) and dry season (August 2011). We used the membrane filtration technique, and identification was performed using Crystal rapid biochemical tests. Were identified Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Aeromonas hydrophila and other Gram negative bacilli, in the two seasons. In rainy season found a lower count of Pseudomonas spp., while counts of Aeromonas spp. was higher in this same period. We suggest more studies continue to support its inclusion in the standards as indicators of the microbiological quality of water in Colombia.
