Agricultura y desarrollo industrial en la República Centroafricana: un enfoque basado en el modelo ARDL

Resumen

La agricultura es un componente clave del desarrollo industrial y uno de los mecanismos fundamentales del Estado para estimular el crecimiento económico. El objetivo de este artículo es estudiar el impacto de la agricultura en el desarrollo industrial de la República Centroafricana. En este estudio, los datos utilizados son series temporales anuales que cubren el período 1986-2016. La modelización mediante el enfoque ARDL (Auto Regressive Distributed Lags) llevó a la selección de ARDL (1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2) como modelo óptimo. Además, la prueba de bandas de Pesaran reveló la existencia de cointegración entre las variables de nuestro modelo econométrico. Los resultados de la estimación muestran que, a corto plazo, el efecto de la agricultura sobre el desarrollo industrial es positivo pero débil. Por otro lado, a largo plazo, el efecto de la agricultura es positivo y significativo. Esto nos permite concluir que el desarrollo industrial en la República Centroafricana está determinado por la agricultura.
