This article emerges from the activity “Life design in people in situations of social vulnerability from a career development approach,” carried out by the Interdisciplinary Institute for Childhood and Adolescence [in Spanish, Instituto Interdisciplinario de la Niñez y la Adolescencia, INEINA] of the Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica. It seeks to create spaces for reflection and change among adolescents, aimed at building a life project with a prospective and contextualized vision. This study was conducted through action research, from a socio-critical approach and by means of participatory workshops, working with 40 adolescents aged 15 to 17 from two educational institutions in Puntarenas and Alajuela. Its objective was to analyze life design from educational and vocational perspectives among vulnerabilized populations. The results are interpreted according to the stages of Savickas's Life Design model (2005) and reveal the importance of openness to honest dialogue, self-expression, and the recognition of reality as a starting point for personal transformation through collective construction.
